RIG TYPE: Masthead sloop

SAILS: 2 mainsails (one Bermudan and the other believed to be a gaff), roller-reefed foresail and staysail, all good

EQUIPMENT: Interior: The boat has a small aft cockpit with seating all round (lockers under) and double doors leading into the enclosed wheelhouse. Steering position and navigation station (with Electrolux fridge under) are to port and a bench seat to starboard. Companionway steps lead into the main cabin, which has the heads and galley to starboard and a dinette (converts to a double) to port. The heads has a Sowester sea-toilet plus storage, and the galley provides a gimballed cooker (with 2 burners, grill and oven), stainless steel sink unit and fitted storage. The dinette has storage lockers under the seats and also under the side deck. Going forward, there are 2 full-length V-berths, plus additional storage and a glazed escape hatch. Headroom throughout the boat is about 6′, interior woodwork is in teak and upholstery, which looks to be in very good condition, is in a brown and beige material. She has a stereo/cassette and a catalytic heater. Navigation equipment includes: Furuno 1621 radar (1998), Selwa Tigershark plotter (1999) with East Coast map, Ultra III Sonar, 2 compasses, Huson 55 VHF, Plastimo autopilot, Eagle fishfinder (1998), Garmin 65 GPS (1998), navigation and deck lights, RDF, speed and distance log. External: The boat is fitted with a stainless steel pulpit, pushpit and stanchions. Her mast is mounted in a tabernacle for easy lowering. She carries a 28lb Danforth anchor, a 10 lb CQR plus chain and warp, fenders, mooring warps, stainless boarding ladder, etc.

REMARKS: One of the rare factory-built Colvic Watsons. Exceptionally spacious (reputedly more internal space than a Fisher 30). This is a well maintained boat, though at the time of writing she is in an end of season condition. However, she appears to be in very good condition for a 21 year-old boat.

OUR OPINION: A nice example of this model, though currently in end of season condition. Sold by us to the present owner and well worth a look.
