The companionway leads down into the main cabin where the galley reaches across the boat. This provides a gas cooker, sink unit (with pressurised hot – heated by gas – and cold), work top, cupboards and drawers. Going forward there is a central drop-leaf table (with integral bottle store and cutlery drawer) and a settee to either side (the starboard one converting to a double berth). Aft of these, the chart table/nav station is to starboard, whilst the galley area is to port. Going forward, there are wet – and dry – lockers to starboard, opposite which is the heads. This has a Baby Blake sea-toilet, shower and hand basin. In the forecabin there are 2 further single berths plus access to the chain locker. Internal décor is varnished mahogany and oak, plus white paintwork. Soft furnishings consist of water-resistant buttoned woven fabric upholstery in a rose colour with cream curtains and green/brown carpets. Headroom is 6′ 4″ in the main cabin and over 6′ for half the length of the berths in the forecabin. Navigation equipment includes a Huson VHF, Autohelm 4000 GPS, Autohelm speed and distance log, Autohelm echosounder, a Wind Wizard, binnacle and hand-bearing compasses and navigation lights. External: The boat is believed to have stainless steel pulpit, pushpit, stanchions and guardlines.
REMARKS: Understood to be very similar to a Buchanan Saxon but is about 12″ more beamy. She does not have a doghouse, but does have a sprayhood. It is understood that extensive portions of deck and coach roof replaced in 1999/00.
OUR OPINION: A lovely, traditionally styled boat that appears to be in excellent condition. Well worth seeing.
