RIG TYPE: Gaff cutter

MAST/SPARS: Varnished pine (keel-stepped), stainless standing rigging (1986)

EQUIPMENT: Internal: The boat has a reasonable sized cockpit with seating and lockers to either side. The companionway leads down into the cabin where there is a chart table to starboard opposite which is the galley area. Forward of these there is a single settee berth to either side (both with storage under). In the bow there is a Baby Blake sea-toilet, sail storage and access to the chain locker. There is also space for a third crew-member to sleep if necessary. Navigation equipment includes: Seafarer echosounder, Walker Excelsior trailing log, Kelvin Hughes Huson 55 VHF, Sowester Bosun steering compass, navigation lights and a hand lead and line. There is an opening skylight in the deckhead giving 5′ 10″ headroom (sitting headroom elsewhere). External: The boat has a manual anchor windlass, 25 lb plough anchor and 18 fathoms 9/32″ galvanised chain. She also has a radar reflector and fog horn plus miscellaneous other gear including deck cushions, bosun’s chair, covers for windlass, hatches and skylight.

REMARKS: A very pretty, traditional boat that was the subject of an extensive refit in 1987. During the 1999 she was given a further refit (including full renovation of the cabin roof). Reluctantly for sale due to age of owner (who has had her for some 14 years). Work has just started on a complete renovation, which will include adding a counter stern, enlarging the cockpit, replacing most of the internal fittings, plumbing, cooker, etc. It is planned that she will have a shower in the heads, Iroko laid decks and so on. There is still time to influence the refit, should the boat be of interest.

OUR OPINION: Whilst she would benefit from some internal tidying, there is no doubt that she would make a very pleasant small cruiser.
