CONSTRUCTION: Timber

YEAR: 1949

DIMENSIONS: LOA 28′, BEAM 9′ 6″ approx., DRAFT 2′ 9″ approx.

COLOUR: Varnished, with grey decks and cabin tops

INTERIOR: 4 berths plus galley and heads

ENGINE: Volvo 2 cylinder diesel

EQUIPMENT: Internal: The vessel has a good sized wheelhouse, the roof of which folds down to enable access to all parts of the Broads. Steering position is to port and steps lead fore and aft to the living accommodation. Going forward, the main cabin has a settee berth to either side (drawers under) plus a cupboard to either side. The galley is in the bow and provides a cooker, sink unit, worktop and cupboards. This area has an escape hatch and – like the rest of the boat – has plenty of natural light. Going aft, the steps lead down into the heads area where there is a toilet compartment with sea-toilet to port and a hand basin to starboard. Aft again, there is a single settee berth to either side (both with drawers under), and between them extending under the aft deck, is a chest of drawers. Interior décor is varnished with blue upholstery in the main cabin. External: The boat has wide side decks, all of which have been renewed and glassed, before being painted with non-slip deck paint.

REMARKS: This boat has been the subject of two bouts of work in the past 5 years. She was damaged as a by-product of a major fire at the boatyard, was repaired, and was subsequently damaged again when the trailer on which she was being taken as an exhibit to the Wooden Boat Show, overturned whilst in transit. In the same ownership for many years.

OUR OPINION: A nicely presented boat, and one which has had a lot of restoration work carried out. Well worth seeing.
