1978 Anderson 22

DIMENSIONS: LOA 22′, BEAM 7′, DRAFT 2′ (plate up) 4′ 6″ (plate down)
KEEL TYPE: Lift keel
COLOUR: Dark blue with cream deck and superstructure

RIG TYPE: Bermudan Sloop
MAST & SPARS: Alloy
SAILS: Slab-reefed main, roller-reefed Genoa and a spinnaker (all new 1998) plus sail cover
EQUIPMENT: Internal: The boat has a good cockpit with seating to either side and lockers beneath. In the cabin, there is a full-length quarter berth to port and a settee berth (also full-length) to starboard. Forward to port, there is a galley area with a cooker and storage (sink unit is understood to be concealed under the companionway steps). Forward of this there is a sea-toilet to port, opposite which is a hanging locker. In the bow there is a V-berth. Navigation equipment includes: Compass, depth sounder and log (all new 1999), wind indicator, navigation lights and Autohelm self-steering. Ground tackle includes: Danforth anchor and chain, Fisherman’s kedge anchor, warps, fenders, etc. She also carries a lifebuoy, 2 fire extinguishers and a fire blanket. We understand the boat had a new battery and isolation switch in 1999, at which time she was also re-wired.
REMARKS: Though compact in size, these are serious cruiser/racers, two of them having entered and finished the 1977 B-Star Transatlantic race. Easily trailable, and with their lift keels they are also very undemanding as to where they are moored.
OUR OPINION: A nicely presented example, for sale due to the purchase of a larger vessel. We recently had another Anderson 22 for sale, and judging by the interest that one triggered, we would recommend early viewing.
