Remarks:
In excellent condition and a wonderful example of her class. She was both built and originally owned by Kinglsey Farrington. The current owner continues to have her professionally maintained by his boatyard every year. With her striking black hull and a full compliment of Lonton & Gray sails she makes for a wonderful spectacle out on the water whether for a relaxing sail or a race. Now sadly for sale owing to work commitments and a lack of time to sail her.
CLASS NOTES: Linton Hope, naval architect to the King of Belgium, designed the Broads One Design at the request of members of the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club in 1900 with the aim of creating a yacht that was both capable of sailing inshore off Lowestoft and also suited to sailing on the Broads, and the first class race is recorded as having been held on Whit Monday 1901 at Oulton Broad. 31 boats were built in wood over a period of 38 years, with more being to added to the class since 1987 constructed in GRP. The class now numbers 88 in total and remains very active today, with the design having proven itself to be both very safe and capable at sea, and very competitive when raced against other Broads classes.
