Remarks:
In Norse mythology, Sleipnir is the eight-legged, grey horse ridden by Odin, King of the gods and is known as the “swiftest horse in the world”
A generally tidy example of this ever popular craft here on the Norfolk Broads, especially with this combination of shallow fin keel and fractional rig, the Pegasus 700 combines great performance with comfortable accommodation which cleverly utilises all available space, making her a very practical family cruiser/racer.
In current ownership since 2012 and only for sale owing to age related issues she benefits from a new Boat Safety Scheme certificate until May 2029 and a Jeckells Mainmate. She is ready to sail this season and can be easily stored throughout winter on the purpose built yard cradle.
Her owner comments:
When I was 70, I had a late midlife crisis and decided that I had one last chance to own a Pegasus 700. Sleipnir has fulfilled all my dreams. She has been a delight to sail and has given us some wonderful cruising – mostly around the northern rivers.
The Y-frame made mast raising and lowering much easier than the original A Frame and, similarly, the mainmate made handling the mainsail much easier.
I’d love to be able to continue to sail Sleipnir but age has caught up with my wife and myself and though I am reluctant to part with the boat, it is the sensible thing to do.
I hope that it will be bought by someone who will get as much fun from her as we have had.
