DESCRIPTION: The boat has a large cockpit with seating, and lockers, to either side. The companionway steps lead down into the main saloon where the heads is located immediately to starboard. The navigation station is immediately forward of this and, opposite, is the galley. This provides a gimballed Plastimo stainless steel cooker (2 burners, grill and oven), worktop, cupboards and two stainless steel sinks (fresh and salt water). There is also a semi-enclosed quarter-berth here. Forward of this, there is then a settee berth to each side of the cabin, behind the port one of which there is a pilot berth, with a fixed, drop-leaf table between them. Forward again, there is a hanging locker to each side and a Taylor’s stainless steel paraffin space heater to starboard. In the bow there is a second cabin, with 2 full-length V-berths (can convert to a double), cupboards and other storage plus access to the chain locker. This area has standing headroom under the hatch. Internal woodwork is varnished mahogany and upholstery is in blue/grey. Navigation equipment includes: Seafarer echosounder, Stowe log, Navico 2500 autopilot, Sestral compass, Navtex and navigation lights. The boat carries 25 gallons diesel and 50 gallons fresh water. She has a glass-sheathed wooden deck, covered in Trakmark, and is fitted with stainless steel pulpit, pushpit and stanchions. She has a blue sprayhood and dodgers. Ground gear includes a 35 lb plough anchor plus 30 m chain and 30 m warp.
REMARKS: It is understood the boat’s running rigging has recently been replaced and that her engine had a top-end overhaul and new mounting/stern bearing seals in 1998. The upholstery in the main cabin was replaced in 1999. It is believed beaching legs are also included in the sale. Her owner, who has owned her since new, states that better use of space is made in this particular boat than other Saltrams, as the mainsheet horse has been mounted on the coach roof to give a less cluttered cockpit. Though not personally inspected, this looks to be a lot of boat for the money.
