INTERIOR: 4/5 berths in 2 cabins (plus wheelhouse) with separate heads and galley
ENGINE: Twin BMC Commodore 3.8 diesels
EQUIPMENT: Internal: The boat has a superb wheelhouse with steering position to port and navigation station to starboard. Going aft, the heads (with Baby Blake, hand basin and shower) is to starboard, opposite which is the galley. This provides a stainless steel Taylor’s pressurised spirit cooker, Electrolux fridge, sink (with pressurised hot – from calorifier OR an immersion heater – and cold), plus cupboards and drawers. Aft again, there is a fitted sideboard/desk to port, opposite which is a Taylor’s space heater. Aft again, there are two full-length settee berths (convert into a double berth) and a drop-leaf removable table (with bottle-store). There is access to the vessel’s aft deck. Going forward from the wheelhouse, double doors lead into the for’ard cabin, which has two full-sized single berths (can be converted to a double), two hanging lockers, a glazed, opening, skylight and access to the chain locker. Headroom throughout the boat is good, being a little over 6′. The interior woodwork is teak or mahogany (and fairly gleams) and the upholstery, which looks to be in excellent condition, is in a fawn/red and blue check material. Navigation equipment includes: JRC radar 3000, Garmin 120 GPS interfaced to a Yeoman plotter, Navico autopilot, Lowrance depth sounder, Seafarer echosounder, Navtex information centre (for weather reports and coastal information), Stowe speed and distance log (plus additional trailed log), Kent Clearscreen, Sailor RT2048 VHF, forward seeking sonar, Sestrel compass (and a hand-bearing compass), horn, vintage brass searchlight, and clock and barometer. External: The boat has galvanised stanchions plus teak handrails, a teak laid deck, navigation mast, plus a varnished pram dinghy (with a 2 hp short shaft Seagull outboard). She also has a 6 man Avon inflatable, flares, shorepower, etc.
REMARKS: It is understood – and inspection bears this out – that the boat has been the subject of considerable refurbishment including some new planking, new decks, engine rebuild, rewiring and re-plumbing (the owner has photographic records of the work being carried out). She has just (winter 1999/2000) had her stem post, some planking and frames replaced, and a forward-seeking sonar fitted. She has also been completely repainted and all her brightwork stripped and re-varnished. In consequence her owner reports that she is currently looking better than at anytime during his 10 year ownership. She has a current Boat Safety Certificate. The navigation equipment – radar, GRP, Plotter – is all interfaced, thus giving very positive positional information.
OUR OPINION: Regularly cruised up and down the East Coast, this vessel is as at home at sea as she is on the rivers. Really beautiful – well worth seeing.
