KEEL TYPE: Lift keel

COLOUR: White with a red bootline and blue antifouling

INTERIOR: 4 berths plus galley and sea-toilet

ENGINE: Vetus 106 diesel, driving a fixed 2-bladed propeller with a cruising speed of about 5 knots and a range of 100 miles

RIG TYPE: Bermudan Sloop

MAST/SPARS: Alloy mast and boom, with stainless standing rigging and terylene running rigging

SAILS: Main and working genoa both by Crusader (1997 and hardly used), multi-purpose light weather genoa also by Crusader, working and storm jibs by Jeckells (old but serviceable), and spinnaker (old, patched but usable). Fitted mainsail cover.

EQUIPMENT: Internal: The boat has a reasonable sized cockpit with seating to either side, a lazarette in the aft deck and is sheltered by fitted dodgers. In the cabin, there is a full-length quarter berth to either side, both with 4″ vinyl covered cushions (new 1998). The galley is located midships with a Sunn single-burner gas-cartridge cooker (plus some storage) to port and the sink (plus more storage) to starboard. In the bow, there is a Parr/ITT sea toilet, plus a V-berth, the cushions of which are original and not normally used. Headroom is 4′ 7″. Navigation equipment includes: Plastimo Contest bulkhead compass, NASA Target log and depth sounder and navigation lights. External: The boat is fitted with stainless steel pulpit, pushpit, stanchions and guardlines (plus nets). She also has mast lowering gear and a transom mounted boarding ladder. Deck equipment includes: 2 Lewmar 8 single speed winches, alloy spinnaker pole, ropes and 4 fenders. Safety equipment includes: Horseshoe lifebuoy with light, 2 manual bilge pumps, 2 dry-powder fire extinguishers (new 1999) and a fire blanket. Ground tackle includes: CQR anchor with chain and rope warp.

REMARKS: It is understood the hull was sand-blasted, filled and epoxy-coated in 1997, since which time she has had little use.

OUR OPINION: A pleasant boat with a lot of potential. Slightly in an end of season condition, she would quickly respond to some TLC: well worth seeing. With her lifting keel and mast lowering gear, she is suitable for coastal/estuary sailing as well as inland.
