Accommodation

  • 5 berths in 2 cabins, plus fully fitted galley and heads with shower
  • The boat has a good sized, well protected cockpit with seating to either side, a doghouse and tiller steering. A bridge-deck protects the companionway, which leads down into the main cabin. At the foot of the companionway steps, behind which there is access to the vessel’s engine, there is a double berth to port and the navigation station to starboard. Under the double berth there is a set of drawers and a fitted cupboard. The navigation station has a full-sized chart drawer, a fitted cupboard and the vessel’s navigation equipment. Aft of this, there is a large space currently used for sail stowage, but which could be converted into a single pilot berth if required. Both this area and the double berth have glazed lights into the cockpit. Going forward, there is a full length (4-seater) settee berth to starboard opposite which is a further, smaller (2-seater) settee. A folding, fitted table can be placed here for dining purposes, the table being large enough for 5 or perhaps 6 to use (this can also be used in the cockpit). Forward again, there is a large galley to port which provides a gimballed Flavel Vanessa cooker (2 burners, grill and oven), a 240v microwave cooker, double stainless steel sink with mixer tap with pressurised hot and cold, drainer, 6 cupboards, cutlery drawer, stowage for a cold box (included), cutlery, M&S crockery in a custom rack, pots and pans, kettle, teapot, two chopping boards and a fixed waste bin. Opposite this is a solid fuel stove with back boiler which heats the hot water cylinder (this is also plumbed into the engine’s sealed cooling system). This is housed in a fitted unit which also contains storage for clothes and thus doubles as a large airing cupboard. The heads is located next, going forward, with a Lavac sea-toilet to port and a handbasin to starboard. There is also a shower unit, with a hardwood grating in the floor. Finally, a further door leads through to the forward cabin where there are two full-length berths. The vessel’s decor is varnished Brazilian mahogany, with unmarked, mid-blue, buttoned dralon upholstery on 5 inch foam. Both the deckhead and the floors are varnished giving the boat a very traditional and bright appearance. Headroom is about 6ft 5in. The vessel has a huge amount of storage both under the berths and also under the floors (the bilges, when inspected, were dry and spotlessly clean). She is fitted with shore power and has a split battery system. Other equipment includes 2 Director’s chairs, radio and CD system (stacking 6 CDs), 2 brass gimballed oil lamps, a brass reading lamp, 3 fluorescent strip lights and a Hurricane Storm lantern. She has wide side decks and good gunwales giving a satisfactory feeling of security on deck.

Equipment

  • Navigation equipment: Navico RT6500 VHF, Navico 5500 Tillerpilot self-steering, Plastimo compass, MLR FX 312 GPS, Nasa speed and distance log, Nasa Stingray dual alarm echo-sounder, brass clock and barometer, searchlight, deck lights, navigation lights
  • Safety equipment: Transom mounted boarding ladder, 3 x fire extinguishers, lifebuoy, 2 x self-inflating life jackets, 2 x harnesses
  • Deck equipment: Manual anchor winch, 35lb CQR anchor with 10m 3/8 chain and 40m 8 plait line, bowsprit, pulpit rail, stanchions and guardlines, dodgers, boat hook, 5 x fenders, numerous mooring lines
  • Rigid plywood tender with oars and rowlocks
  • 12v mobile phone charging socket

Remarks:

The boat carries 125 litres diesel, plus 700 litres of fresh water with a further 100 litres in the hot calorifier. Her owner remarks that the water tank, which is integral to the hull, has large sealed lids for easy cleaning. She is insulated throughout with Rock wool.

A very comfortable and clearly much-loved vessel which is for sale only due to a change of plans. She appears to be in immaculate condition and is ready to go. Her interior joinery, in particular, is just splendid. With her ability to go through the French canals (air-draft is about 6ft 6in) she is a very versatile vessel indeed.
