Remarks:
Believed built as a 2/3 berth private metacentric-hulled cruiser/racer, but finished off as a double-cabin 4 berth and placed in hire after the commissioning owner failed to complete payment, this well-known Broads classic has a racing history which includes numerous firsts in Broadland regattas and is an open series winner at Wroxham. Owned by the current owner for some 17 years, she is generally regarded as one of the finest cruiser-racers produced in her era. Whilst rigged for performance, Privateer is easily raced with a crew of three or even two, and in cruising mode, such are her good manners, that she may be sailed single-handed, which makes her eminently suitable as a family craft.
