Remarks:

Built in the 1930’s by Percy Hunter on the mould of the Hunter Fleet’s fabled “Woodcut” lugsail half deckers, this classic dayboat is one of only three such boats built by the yard for private owners to this great Percy’s inspired design and with impeccable craftsmanship. This example was originally owned for a Mr de Carle Smith who towed her around the Norfolk Broads with his matching brown-varnished motor cruiser Saskia (the story features in Richard Johnstone-Bryden’s book “Hunter’s Fleet”, available from Hunter’s). She was purchased by the current owner, who confesses to falling in love with her on sight, from a family who had owned her for decades, during which time she had introduced generations of family and friends to the delights of Broads sailing. Her owner states “She sails like a dream of course, and accommodates a family with ease, but she is also a boat for the Hunter heritage purist. She is astonishingly original: from maker’s plate to chromed brass oarlocks, the bamboo spars to the elegant long sculls with their curved blades, from the massive solid mahogany thwart which removes to allow space for camping on the cockpit sole, to the hatch-covers back-stamped with her name – her whole spec 1930’s. Even the very serviceable lugsail is scotch-cut, giving her a distinctive period look which attracts the cameras wherever she sails.”

UPDATE MAY 2018: Price substantially reduced for quick sale!

MOORING: It’s understood that there is a possibility that the current mooring could be transferred to the purchaser subject to arrangement with the boatyard.
