Remarks:
In hire with the original builder until the mid 1990s. This Broads half decker’s first private owner was the now vendor who purchased the boat for a second time 10 years ago. Immediately prior to the vendor’s re-purchase, she was totally rebuilt to a very high standard over the course of some 5 years or so by Phillip Peake, a very well respected local boatbuilder, at the time intended for his own personal use.
Jamesia is currently ashore for the winter season at a very desirable northern Broads location. Included in the sail is a trailer, recent sails, rigging and cover (offering occasional overnight wild camping opportunities!), This beautiful half decker offers an all but unique option to anyone looking for a traditional Broads day sailer. Sadly offered for sale due to the purchase of a larger Broads yacht.
The owner remarks that due to the shallow draft of the lifting keel she is ideal for sailing all over Hickling Broad without touching the bottom. Additionally, with a westerly or easterly wind she can sail all the way along The Waxham Cut to the end and back, which the owner enjoyed this Summer
Since her rebuild the only maintenance she has required is painting, varnishing and anti-fouling. Her bilges are always dry apart from slight ingress from water dripping down her mast. The apron which attaches to the camping cover protects the hull from sun damage meaning the hull only requires varnishing every few years
Please note: As an open boat with no fixed fuel or electrical systems, this half decker is exempt from the Boat Safety Scheme.
MOORING: It’s understood that a mooring may be available to the purchaser by separate negotiation (direct with the mooring owner) at the vessel’s current northern Broads location.
