Remarks:
Designed for both racing and cruising, the Hunter Sonata 7 was built in both fin and lifting keel versions, with the shallower draft of the latter being more suited to Broads sailing. Designed by David Thomas (famed for the Elizabethan, Sigma and many other Hunter’s Boats’ designs) as a development of his Quarter Tonner Quarto, the Sonata is very seaworthy and fast for her size. The design proved very successful with over 400 Sonatas built by Hunter’s Boats in Essex over a 20 or so year period. Sonatas can still be found all around the UK and the design has been adopted as a one-design class in many sailing clubs. For sale due to the purchase of a traditional Broads yacht.
