Remarks:
UPDATE JULY 2022: UNEXPECTEDLY RE-OFFERED FOR SALE DUE TO A CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCES.
With over 1,000 examples already sailing in almost every part of the world this is one of our most popular sailboats. Capable of off-shore cruising this is one rugged sailboat that can be easily handled by one person but can accommodate a small family on extended cruises.
– Bruce Roberts-Goodson, professional yacht designer since 1968 and author
With renowned sailing capabilities and offering excellent accommodation – and in particular, headroom – for her size, the Bruce Roberts 25 Adventurer Pilothouse is superb option if you’re looking for a pocket cruiser for long distance/extended cruising. In common with the majority of Bruce Roberts designed boats, this motor sailer was built to a high specification and home completed with little regard to cost. Purchased by the first owner as a bare hull, fitting out is believed to have commenced in c. 1982 and “Sophia Rose” was eventually completed and launched by her second owner (the first having sadly passed away before he completed her) in 2006. Understood to have been little used since her launch, she was purchased by the current owner just a couple of years ago and has once again been little very used under the current ownership, this time due to covid-19 lockdowns, etc. She is now regretfully offered for sale due to a change of plans.
Set up for single handing with in mast furling and electric mast lowering gear, this is an excellent boat for short handed sailing, with a pedigree and design that offer future owners a world of cruising possibilities! Requiring just a little, predominately cosmetic, ‘finishing off’, she is afloat and ready to sail away almost immediately!
Please note: This vessel will be sold as seen, with her inventory including a quantity of spare parts and miscellaneous chandlery. The vessel has previously been British SSR registered (now lapsed).
MOORING: The vessel’s southern Broads mooring is understood to be transferable if required (with the purchaser becoming responsible for mooring costs from the sale completion date, annual cost ~£183 plus VAT per metre).
