Remarks:
A true modern classic, the Cornish Shrimper 19 is one of the most successful pocket cruisers ever built, with over 40 years of continuous production and more than 1,00 boats launched. Timelessly styled and cleverly updated, it offers both character and practicality. A spacious cockpit combined with a snug cabin for shelter and overnight cruising all in a lightweight easily towable package.
With only three owners from new and well maintained by all, this lovely example benefits from a recent hull re-paint and interior re-fresh leaving her gleaming. Further benefits include a Yanmar GM10 inboard diesel engine serviced annually, a low drag Darglow propeller and a heavy duty combination road/launching ‘piggy back’ trailer.
Her owner comments:
“We are the 3rd owners from new. The 1st was the last RN Captain of HMS Black Swan – hence her name! The 2nd (a former RAF officer) had her for 15-years – racing her successfully in Poole Harbour & beyond. We were impressed with their stewardship!
After 50-years sailing our various yachts (25 – 42ft) we left the Baltic after 14 happy years. We had shortlisted an inboard diesel Shrimper for our last boat. This due to an earlier sail – in which we were impressed by their versatility, rewarding performance & ease of handling. We have not been disappointed in ownership!
BlackSwan benefits from a very extensive professional refit during the last 2-years – with over £12,000 being spent & new gear added (incl. Garmin GPS/Depth instrument, Solar Panel etc.). The naturally good performance of the type is further improved by her feathering Darglow propeller. She towed-up well from Dorset on her road-trailer (never in the water due to its piggy-back launch-trailer). Now in our 80th year – sudden bad health – means we have now to let her go.”
