Remarks:

Fully restored in 2010, this charming and much loved classic Broads yacht has since been professionally well maintained by a highly reputable boatyard. Major work has included a new transom in 2014, replacement hull planking in 2018 and a number of ribs in 2023. A major refurbishment of the hull and deck ahead of the forward cabin bulkhead was done in 2025/26 at a cost approaching £15,000.

Traditionally a 2 berth cruiser, a set of infills has been thoughtfully created to turn the cockpit into an occasional berth when needed.

A reluctant sale owing to the passage of time and living some distance from the Broads.

Her owner remarks:

With her choice of self-tacking jib and full genoa she provides easy handling either single handed or with a crew of two or three.

Her electric propulsion system provides silent motoring without the noise,  fumes and  risk of contamination or worse of petrol or diesel power. The Torqeedo pod drive incorporates a  folding propeller and is mounted direct to the hull astern of the keel and ahead of the rudder and powered from a lithium battery in the portside cockpit locker. There is no physical penetration of the hull beyond the two power cables. Forward, reverse and speed control is by means of a throttle mounted under the starboard cockpit seat. The installation incorporates an integral charger with shoreline allowing charging from a private mooring supply or from any of the outlets available on Broads Authority free moorings. System management is via a display on the throttle housing or, more conveniently, by the Torqeedo app on a mobile phone. Range fully charged is dependent on weather conditions and speed but most places on the northern and many on the southern Broads can be and have been reached on a single charge.

She has proved an ideal cruising yacht for two and has over the years visited every extremity of the Broads from Coltishall to Beccles and Norwich to Horsey. Although perhaps at her best in lighter airs, she has competed in every Three Rivers Race since 2013, completing the course on no less than six occasions. She has also finished the Yare Navigation Race a number of times, twice winning plaques for 3rd in her class, and is a regular entrant in Horning Week and other Horning Sailing Club events, always giving a good account of herself thanks to her generous RCC handicap.   With her compact but comfortable accommodation, she allows  the  sailor to recapture the magic of Broads yachting of earlier generations and always attracts admiring comments wherever she goes.

MOORING: It’s understood that both a mooring and winter storage may be available to the purchaser by separate negotiation (direct with the mooring owner) at the vessel’s current northern Broads location.
