RIG TYPE: 2/3 fractional Bermudan sloop

MAST/SPARS: Spruce

SAILS: Mainsail, no. 1 jib, storm jib and spinnaker, all by Banks. Slab and roller reefing.

EQUIPMENT: Internal: The interior of this vessel fairly gleams with varnished mahogany. The main cabin area has 2 single berths, plus galley area providing an Electrolux 2 burner spirit stove, a sink with manually pumped cold water, cupboard and locker storage, and a folding table. Her VHF is mounted in this area and she has a repeater speaker in the cockpit. The forepeak provides two further berths (converts to a double), plus a Blake’s Lavac sea toilet which fits under the berths and pulls out when in use. Privacy is provided by a locker door which doubles as a screen. This area also provides under floor stowage for the folding table. Navigation equipment includes: Swiftech 168 VHF, Sestrel compass, NASA speed and distance log (needs attention), echosounder, Micrologic Sportsman GPS, Tillerpilot 100 autopilot (1996), wind vane self-steering and navigation lights. External: She has a good-sized, self-draining cockpit with lockers under the seats, and dodgers, pulpit and pushpit. Deck equipment includes: 25lb CQR anchor (plus 15 metres 8mm chain and 50 metres new 12mm anchorplait) and 12kg folding anchor (plus 7.5 metres 8 mm chain and 25 metres 12mm 3 strand nylon).

REMARKS: We sold this boat to her current owner about 5 years ago. In the interim we understand that: running and standing rigging was checked and renewed as necessary in 1997; the port side of the cockpit was rebuilt in 1998; the Morse “stop” cable was renewed in 2001; bilge pump was rebuilt and the sink skin fitting replaced in 1999; berth cushions were recovered in 1998; the companionway hatch was rebuilt in 1999; the mast and boom were professionally re-varnished in 1999; the sails have been valeted and repaired each season; and the diesel has been serviced and de- and re-commissioned each winter, as have the vessel’s batteries. A beautiful example of these classic, tough sailing cruisers: excellent sea boats. She is in class and takes part in cruiser division races. Keel bolts replaced 1996.

OUR OPINION: They say if a vessel looks right, it probably is right: this one looks lovely, though is understood to be in need of a little cosmetic tidying. Early viewing recommended.
