Remarks:
First designed by naval architect Linton Hope in 1900 at the request of the Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club with the aim of building a yacht capable of sailing inshore and on the Norfolk Broads, Broads One Design #26 “Shearwater” was built in wood in 1925 at Burnham Yacht Building Company.
In 1991, being considered a true and exemplary example of the fleet, she was used to produce the fibreglass mould still used today for the production of GRP hulled Brown Boats making her of historical interest for her class.
She has since (in 1992) been fibreglass sheathed along with GRP decks, ensuring minimal ongoing maintenance for a wooden craft of this age.
Previously listed with Topsail and bought by her late owner in 2023, she has not been back in the water since and remains in good condition.
Please Note: Owing to her current storage location, the photos are all from the previous listing in 2023. We understand she is currently presented to a very similar standard.
