SAILS: Main, 2 topsails, jib, 2 staysails and cruising chute, plus others – all tan. Jib on Wykeham-Martin furling gear. Furling staysail.
EQUIPMENT: Internal: The vessel has a large cockpit with seating to either side. The companionway leads down into the main cabin where there is a single settee berth to either side and a drop-leaf central table. The galley area is midships to starboard and provides a stainless steel sink (manually pumped cold water), cooker (2 burners and grill) and storage. A folding chart table fits over the top of the galley. Going forward, there is a hanging locker to port and in the forward cabin there are 2 single berths, under the centre section of which there is a Portapotti. Navigation equipment includes: Plastimo Contest compass, Autohelm 1000 autopilot, Seafarer VHF, Seafarer electromagnetic log, Seafarer echosounder, Firdell Blipper radar reflector and navigation lights. External: The boat carries a plough anchor with 37 fathoms 1/2″ and 10 fathoms 5/16″ galvanised chain. She also has a Fisherman’s anchor and a Danforth with nylon warp. She has a boarding ladder, cockpit tent and full set of warps and fenders.
REMARKS: This boat was owned by the Penzance harbour master for 16 years, where she was class raced. It is understood her hull was epoxied in 1996.
OUR OPINION: Nicely presented, traditional style boat. Understood to sail well, these are very appealing vessels.
