Remarks:

*** PRICE REDUCED NOVEMBER 2014 DUE TO VENDOR’S IMMINENT RELOCATION ABROAD! ***

This recently and sympathetically restored River Cruiser, originally built in 1920 by Ernest Collins (sister yacht to Silver Cloud and Arrow), retains all of the beauty, character and charm that is expected in a traditional Broads yacht. ‘Silver Queen’, known about the broads as ‘Queenie’, was originally part of the Blakes Holidays hire fleet and is included in some pre-war Blakes catalogues. With ample space to comfortably accommodate a large family, she is still easily handled whilst cruising with just a crew of two (the previous owner sailed her single handed!). Queenie has been totally re-rigged back to original 1920’s sail plan spec, which includes the removal of the bowsprit and topsail. She is now re-balanced with a new mainsail and self tacking jib which works lovely on a foot boom. Queenie is a gentle River Cruiser with a fine sailing performance, precisely as she was designed for people with limited experience, and equally so the experienced will enjoy her performance on the water. When not in use, the jib sail and boom are cleverly stowed out of the way on the port side cabin roof, leaving the deck space clear. As per her 1920’s sail plan, delivered by Jeckells’ archive, she correctly now has no sail numbers.

Queenie retains many of her original features, and has the advantage of a light weight and economical new outboard which negates the loss of storage space and maintenance associated with inboard engines, and also easily fits her dinghy whenever the need arises. The present owners have carried out all of the recommendations made in the August 2012 survey report, plus much more (with an open cheque book – clearly they adore her!). Very regrettably for sale due to the owners impending relocation, Queenie turns heads where ever she goes and she will, without doubt, bring huge amounts of joy and satisfaction to her new owners. 2012 survey report available upon request.

MOORING: It is understood that the Vessel’s current mooring on the northern Broads can be transferred to the purchaser.
