Remarks:
With an active fleet still racing locally, and with additional boats having been built in GRP in recent decades, the Yare & Bure One Design (AKA Yare & Bure OD, YBOD or “White Boat”) is a true Broadland classic! Designed to be both beautiful and fast, she is an extremely versatile day sailer which appeals to both novices and experienced sailors alike and offers sufficient space for six to cruise in comfort, making her an excellent and popular family boat too.
The following is a quote from Classic Boat Magazine: “Under sail, the YBOD is lively, yet responsive – her easily-driven hull slipping sweetly through the water. Her powerful rig can make her a challenge to sail in strong, gusty conditions, yet with a couple of reefs in and an additional crew-member on board, she will still prove reassuringly stable, with her semi-balanced rudder making her a relatively light touch on the helm.”
This example, #52, has been in the same ownership for some ten years during which time she has seen little racing action but has been afloat and in full commission annually for cruising purposes. She is overwintered ashore at her owner’s home and is clearly well maintained as a consequence. For sale as the owner sadly has one too many boats! Complete with trailer and recent new awning, she’s ready to sail!
