Broads Yacht Restoration Project
General Specification
Remarks:
FOR SALE: 20 foot wooden broads yacht for restoration.
“Imp” was designed and built by Chumley and Hawke in 1935. Eastwood Whelpton bought her in 1959 and changed the rig to bermudan sloop with a cabin mounted tabernacle and a small jib. I [the Vendor] acquired the boat, and although she was in the water and I was able to sail her on a number of occasions, it was obvious she needed a complete refit.
She came out of the water last year and to date the following work has been done:
New epoxy coated mahogany transom, inner transom frames, new aft deck beams, 23 new oak steamed ribs and two lengths of planking.
The deck covering, along with most of the deck planking has been removed, the interior stripped out and the cabin front removed.
She requires more planking, supplied, new deck, new cabin sides and front, and a new cabin roof. Interior needs putting back together, supplied.
She is complete with two awnings, two complete sets of tan sails, mast, boom, lowering frame, stainless steel rigging, warps, deck fittings etc, lifting outboard bracket, 5hp Johnson two stroke twin cylinder long shaft outboard, and a four wheeled road trailer which needs the brakes sorting and probably new wheel bearings.
Imp is in a boatyard on the northern Broads and cannot be moved at the moment as she is hemmed in by other boats in storage. She does require a lot of work, and unfortunately I just do not have the time or enthusiasm to complete her. Yard storage fees have been paid til April 2022.
THIS IS A CLASSIFIED ADVERT and all enquiries and contact information will be forwarded directly to the vendor.
