Remarks:
Simple, rugged and seakindly, Drascombes epitomise everything that a traditional sailing dinghy should be! Whilst a little smaller than the more numerous Drascombe Lugger, the Drascombe Dabber, of which over 900 examples have been built since 1971, still carries a full yawl rig and is easily distinguished from her larger sister by her bowsprit and transom-hung rudder. The Dabber is small enough to fit in the average family garage, but still big on performance thanks to the flexibility of her sail plan. Ideal for shallow waters, she is also easy to row and to handle under power.
This 1990 example (hull number 785) is understood to be in good and tidy condition throughout. Being a late (and lightly used) example, she still retains her original gelcoat finish to her hull. Complete with a 2017 low miles road trailer which has never yet been immersed, and a 2.3hp Honda outboard motor which is understood to run well, she is fully equipped and ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. Reason for sale: Owner is 84 years old. Currently lying on her trailer at the owner’s home in East Yorkshire and available for inspection.
