Remarks:

In very good condition for her age, this Twinkle 12 has been in the same ownership for the last 50 years. Enjoying light summer use with the grandchildren, she has been barn stored ashore when not in use since 1975!
She benefits from recent suit of  sails (and two sets of spares) as well as a combination launching trolley/road trailer.

Built by Wright and Sons Ltd, Ipswich to Twinkle 12 design,  these boats are known for their good sailing performance and classic appearance and were particularly popular at the Burnham Overy Staithe Sailing Club which still maintains an active fleet.

The owner comments:

The Twinkle 12 has often been described as an ideal family boat. Roomy, kind, forgiving and a smart sailor. Described as ‘a boat forever’ in ‘A Month of Summers’, (Dalton, 1994).
That time has nonetheless come, and the owner hopes another family will enjoy and care for her (as I have done) for 50 years. Beautiful, sound and seaworthy with no known vices, she has never come to harm and should now be loved by another family.

She has been well maintained locally for the last 50 years with support from professional (LBTC trained) shipwrights. She would benefit from a small repair to the foot of the mast and the hull and spars are due for re-varnishing but is otherwise in very good condition.
