Remarks:
This lovely example has been recently restored to a very high standard with works done to her hull, transom, cabin and mast and a good deal of varnishing she is gleaming.
Her charming cabin offers extremely comfortable accommodation for two, with the luxury of cabin heating, a separate heads (privacy curtain) and a windowed awning providing very useful additional living space when moored up. She also benefits from the installation of a new diesel inboard engine in 2010.
Built in Essex, the Dauntless 22 is a very pretty traditional estuary sailing cruiser, ideal for the shallow waters of the east coast and Norfolk Broads. A beautiful vessel that’s ready to go!
Her owner comments:
“Ratty is a joy to sail on the broads. Although not a White Boat she can sail surprisingly close to the wind and can navigate the Bure with ease. All the sheets and halyards are led into the cockpit for ease of sailing. Down wind she flies. The lifting centreboard and rudder means you can nose into the shallowest of waters. Ā Once you have mastered the rather clever system for dropping the mast Ratty can navigate all the bridges on the Broads. Her reliable and economic Beta marine diesel pushes Ratty along at 5 mph at 1800 revs
Ratty has been on her current stretch of the Broads for nearly 30 years and is well known and loved by many regular Broads sailors and you are constantly receiving cheery waves and āhello Ratty!ā”
Please Note: It is understood she is on a private mooring which is not transferrable.
The photos of her under sail at the beginning are from May 2024, with the later ones being summer 2022/23. The photo with the awning is from April 2021.
All other photos are from August 2025
