Remarks:

The Cornish Shrimper 19 is Cornish Crabber’s most popular model with over 1,100 now sailing all over the world, and her timeless styling, great handling and high build quality have led to her reputation as one of the best British production gaffers of all time.

A very clean and tidy example having originally been bought by her current owner in August 2024 with the expectation of  being a ‘forever’ boat and therefore treated to a considerable amount of refurbishment recently over the winter of 2024/2025 and is now gleaming and in ready to sail condition. Works included:

  • Mast stripped back to bare wood and treated with Barretine universal preserver Cetol HLS Plus and Cetol Filter 7
  • All interior cabin paint removed and re-painted with three coats of Teamac galley paint
  • All interior varnish work stripped and re-varnished
  • Forward bulkhead removed and extra cabin space decorated to match existing
  • Washboards replaced with doors on lift off hinges
  • Brass port lights installed in top of the forward bulkhead
  • Shelves installed on the rear cabin bulkhead
  • Rear lockers cleaned out painted with white Teamac bilge paint
  • Rudder stripped and existing steel drop plate replaced with 6mm aluminium and re-varnished/painted as necessary
  • Tiller handle reshaped to clear the outboard engine
  • Hull, cabin top and well polished
  • Centre plate pivot bolt and cable replaced

Her owner comments:

I have enjoyed this season of sailing Pixie, she handles and sails really well. I particularly like the large well area which accommodates four adults with ease and the set up for single handed sailing. Unlike most GRP yachts of this size, the Shrimper has a very pretty, traditional look and the fact that Pixie can be put on her trailer and brought home for winter maintenance was the real bonus for me. Due to all the foregoing I thought Pixie would be my forever boat, but I was offered my dream boat at a good price so sadly she must go.
