Remarks:
Described as a “graceful and well mannered boat with a fine spread of gunter rigged canvas”, the Rebel One Design class is still actively raced in Horning, and with two boats available for hire as part of the Hunters Yard fleet, the fleet currently numbers 16 boats in total. The first 13 boats, built between 1950 and 1962, were constructed in wood, with 3 further boats having been built in GRP since 2008. Designed as a family cruising/racing boat, Rebel One Designs combine an excellent sailing performance with a spacious and comfortable cockpit. An outboard motor may be fitted for extended cruising.
Built in 2015, R16 “Rebel Reiver” is the youngest in the class and featured in Classic Boat Magazine when her high build standard was recognised with a nominated in the under 40ft Spirit of Tradition category of the Classic Boat Awards 2016 – a very prestigious honour indeed! She has been laid up ashore under cover since completion and her initial testing afloat (not raced) and is consequently being sold in ‘as new’ condition.
