Remarks:
One of the oldest boats sailing on the Broads, this river cruiser class yacht is believed to be the oldest and possibly only surviving example of a River Thames cabin sailing yacht. She is thought to have been built by Salters of Oxford in circa 1890 (and certainly before the disastrous fire which destroyed all of Salter’s records in 1900 and after which dated builder’s plates were fitted to all boats) and to have been brought to the Norfolk Broads by road after the war. She was later discovered by a previous owner as a wreck at Wayford Bridge in 1982 and subsequently underwent a substantial renovation at Greenway Marine in Loddon. She spent a further period ashore more recently, being relaunched in good structural order for the 2018 season. This very characterful little river cruiser with pretty lines is understood to sail well, and is now reluctantly offered for sale due to a growing family and travelling distance to sail. The owner has indicated that he would also consider selling just a part share in the yacht.
