EQUIPMENT: Internal: The vessel has a very good sized, enclosed, wheelhouse from which companionways lead forward to the main saloon and aft to the owner’s stateroom. The wheelhouse itself has the steering position to starboard, seating for 3/4 and a sliding sunroof, through which the engine could be removed if necessary. Access to the outside is by sliding doors to either side. Going forward, there is a toilet compartment to port, with a Portapotti toilet whilst to starboard is a fitted dinette which converts into a double berth. Forward of this, to port, is the galley area with a gimballed cooker (2 burners, grill and oven), sink unit with pressurised cold water, work-top, cupboards and drawers. Forward again, the forepeak provides a cabin with single berth (but with space for a double), shelf and locker plus access to the chain locker. Going aft from the wheelhouse, to starboard of the companionway is a hanging locker opposite which is the heads compartment with sea-toilet, shower and hand basin. Aft of this there is a fitted seat to either side with a large double berth built across the vessel’s transom. The vessel is fitted out to a good professional standard, the quality of the woodwork – teak, iroko and pine – in particular needing to be seen to be properly appreciated. Headroom throughout is about 6′, and the boat benefits from Eberspächer warm air central heating and shore power. Navigation equipment includes an echosounder and compass. External: The vessel is very substantially built, and finished to high standard. She has a large foredeck with stainless pulpit, pushpit and stanchions, and is fitted with a secondary steering position on her aft deck.
REMARKS: This vessel has been constructed by her owner over an extended period. In doing so he has built to a very high standard and has meticulously followed best ferro building procedures as laid down by the designers. She is considerably over engineered in terms of strength of her hull and also of her interior, and deck, fittings (for example, rubbing strakes are 3″ by 2″ keruin and cabin sides are 1.5″ iroko). It is estimated that she is now about 80% complete and that allowing for electronics, sails and deck equipment, the cost of completion would be a further £8,000 – £10,000. The craft has huge amounts of storage space and there is spare capacity for calorifier, etc. if wished.
OUR OPINION: A very substantially built, good looking vessel with the capacity to go almost anywhere. She is spacious, comfortable and must be seen to be fully appreciated.
